The national bank ID is the swift code I think
The IBAN no. usually contains the sortcode & account no.

bank code

the quality of knowledge on the front service area of some banks worries me,what has happened to staff training, in mine teller did not know how to accept a barclay's international cheque in £'s untill I told her what to press, and in last bank ,teller had never heard of SWIFT code...z

I did a wire transfer last week through Clydesdale for $826 through to Escrow ~ only Escrow only received $806 which caused no end of grief for me, I am constantly bewildered at banks lack of knowledge and ability to deal with anything internet related as well.

Sending money 'abroad' makes them feel they can charge an absolute fortune in fees, and the TSB now charge £1 on any 'internation transactions' so a small hosting account thats $5 per month now gets a £1 fee slapped on every month.

I used to go to great pains to cash adsense cheques filling in large forms and paying £8 to pay in a foreign cheque... sorry [/rant]

I spent 10 mins on the phone with her and she went off 3 times to triple check and the final answer was there is no such thing as a National Bank Code

However on Sedo there is a seperate box for SWIFT code, so I guess it cant be the SWIFT code

For National Bank Code I would just enter the Sort Code, that is the code that distinguishes the bank from any other.

Quote:
IBAN
International Bank Account Number, consisting of ISO country code (two digits), a checksum (two digits), the national bank code or sort code (in Germany, it is called "Bankleitzahl") and the account number. The length of IBANs differs between countries (the maximum is 34 alphanumeric characters), but it is always the same within one country.
