Nope, there is no transfer code for .uk domains, they just transfer the domain into their registrar account once the ownership transfer is done.

And yes, like I said, because .uk transfers are done away from the registrar the domain may remain in your registrar account - it depends on how your current registrar handles (or doesn't handle) domains that have been transferred away.

My buyers are usually small business owners that I contact and redirect to sedo myself. They wouldn't know how to do things. I don't want to leave them frustrated. I should explain them what needs to be done. That's why I'm trying to understand.

I now understand most of it except how the domain will go to buyers account after it arrives at the new registrar. I understand that nominet will move the domain to the new registrar. But how does the new registrar know in what account to put it in? And how does the buyer get the domain in his account once he realises it doesn't magically appear in his registrar account?

Is there an automated process that moves the domain to the correct account if name and address details of the buyer are an exact match in his nominet account and registrar account?

The registrar doesn't know which account it belongs in.

Once again - the buyer logs into their registrar and transfers the domain in, it is then associated with their account and they have control over it.

Every registrar has a transfer in link in the control panel.

I would just mention, even Sedo has changed the pricing, if you are selling your domain for low price, they charge you 10% but minimum $50, what ever is greater, unless the domain is parked with Sedo parking at least 32 days, speaking of "buy now" price. And 15% for auction sales.

I think we get it. You can stop spamming every topic now. It won't earn you brownie points on acorn. Of anything you've probably burnt your bridges already.

Just bought my first .uk from sedo wondering how long the process generally takes their transfer panel keeps telling me to contact my registrar I assume sedo know that uk domains don't work this way will they automatically forward my nominet email as usual no response from my Transfer Agent as of yet

Worth closing / updating thread, as it refers to transfer forms and is from 2005!
