Cool Hello again!!

Hi there,

Thank you very much your responses - it's been very interesting to read what you have to say, I'll do my best to answer your questions!!

.....Ok, so I reckon that I should start from the beginning....I can certainly understand that it appears unfair that the minimum fees for .co.uk domains are far higher. This is primarily down to Nominet's system of dealing with domain transfers - the process is far more labour intensive and time consuming than with a .com for example not to mention that the assistance of a transfer agent is required at every stage of the process...

.....Our prices are based on the country where our customers are based - US and Canadian customers will be charged in USD where as those in the rest of the world in Euros. Our parking system pays our US clients in dollars and Europeans in Euros so I guess you are getting a slightly better deal here!!

....Sedo are currently planning on making changes to the parking program - we hope to be able to launch these in November. At present, customisation of a parking page is only available on special arrangement - however I have passed your comments on to those higher up.

....We like the idea for giving customers the opportunity to leave feeback and rate sellers - something that we will certainly consider for the future.

....Sedo currently pay more than any other parking service for co.uk traffic - the amount that you receive does depend greatly on the quality and the origin of the traffic - I would also recommend that you keep an eye on the keywords that you use, as our advertising partner updates their system, the relevancy of certain words becomes lesser and greater.

....The comments that are attached to bids are approved several times daily - by both our offices in Germany and in the US - this means that we have most times in the day coverered....of course there be a period when no comments are checked however we ensure that this is no longer than 12 hours.

....Finally! I'm sorry about the delay in this reply - I only have time to come on here once a day at the moment - hopefully in the future, I'll be able to come on more often!

I hope that you are all well - please do keep in touch with any Sedo/secondary domain market/parking related queries!!

All the best,

David

as far as i can see its more complex for us NOT you?

We have to:
apply to nominet for the forms
complete the sections
write a letter
post the forms

the buyer then
complete the remaining sections
writes another cheque!!!
posts it all to nominet

nominet complete the transaction?

what does sedo do?

This is an interesting and useful thread. I wonder if it was prompted by the recent announcement here of a rival service. I reckon some healthy competition would be good news for the punters.

you would think that they would have strict procedures for £100 but in my experience they rely on the good nature of both the buyer and the seller. So in the same breath either party can make it extremely difficult for the other.

eg: put an offer on get it accepted and dont complete the form. that means that domain is off the market until the seller puts enough pressure on sedo to cancel the legals. Could easily persuade a buyer to go elsewhere.

sounds like a miss marple i know! probably a little too paranoid

Is there a way to tell how much the top search term is?

Ie I have a clothing related domain.. can I find out the top click for terms such as 'fashion' 'clothing' or 'designer wear' So that I can choose the highest.

Hi,

What about this. Why don't you go to Euro currency as french and german did and change GBP to Euro 1 to 1. Then I will pay 150 euro to a server instead of 150 GBP

Smile Choosing keywords

Hello again,

Thank you for your questions, I've done my best to answer them below......

........I have passed on your grievances about the pricing policy to senior colleagues, so will keep you up to date.....

........Choosing the right keywords is crucial if you want to encourage the right kind of visitors to your parked domain. A close approximation to what advertisers pay for certain keyword-related ads can be found at www.overture.com. Go to the link for "resource center" in the centre of the page and look at the box entitled "tools". The "keyword selector tool" will help you find keywords related to any domain you have and the "view bids tool" will help you see how much advertisers are willing to pay for adds related to certain keywords. It is a great tool, but use it with caution - remember that it is not necessarily representative of what Sedo’s advertising pays. However, it is a good way to get a reasonable approximation.

The Google Adwords Keyword Tool https://adwords.google.com/select/ma...KeywordSandbox can be used if you have a very general keyword or theme on which you to elaborate - This tool will generate a thorough and far-reaching list of possible keywords. You should also take care here to ensure that the words generated are in fact relevant to your domain.

.....I would certainly view any possible competition as a positive move - healthy competition will hopefully encourage companies to improve customer service and will also mean that you guys are going to get a better choice of where to do business.

Please keep your comments coming, I look forward to hearing from you!

Ok. I have a german domain with keyword auto and it has 60 percent CTR. The domain has 0.07 Euro per click rate. So does that mean I get 7 cents out of minimum 15 cents, which has also as much as 34 cents bids...
