Post How Long To Wait For Sedo Buyer To Pay?

Hi to all!

I'm new to this forum.

Got some few questions about transactions at Sedo. Recently, I put my website on sale at Sedo.com and after few months got offers from interested buyers. However, until now I haven't heard from the winning bidder. 22 days have past since we both agreed with the price I am selling it. I was sent email by Sedo saying it will give the buyer 10 business days to settle the outstanding amount. I emailed them and got a reply saying they have sent email to the buyer.

To those who have experience selling domains at sedo, how long does it take to complete the transaction from the time agreement has been sent up to the complete transfer of domain (in my case a whole developed site)?

I am also getting upset because I have heard lately a lot of buyers don't pay at Sedo. Is this true?

Please help shed some light about this. Thanks in advance.

Phone your sedo account manager, it shouldn't take that long for them to pay.

By bidding they entered into a contract but I am not sure if anyone here ever tried to enforce it when the bidder pulled out.

Dont wait any longer, time to get firm with Sedo about what is happening.

It's frustrating to know someone bidding at Sedo don't honor agreement. I think no one will enforce it to think the amount involve is just a few dollars.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

I waited about a month and then the buyer paid (I Think) I got an e mail requesting me to send the Website as a zip file to them, I presume this means the buyer has paid? I Waiting on further word now to transfer the domain. Can anybody confirm if I am correct in saying the buyer has paid? And can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for the money to be transfered to me after this stage? Im goin on holiday in 3 weeks would b nice to have a bit of extra cash for it!

Thanks on advance

The only way to know if the buyer has paid is to ask sedo. If it was sedo that asked you to send the site, then I'd guess they have, but if it was the buyer, DONT SEND IT until you have made sure!

Hi Everyone,

First of all to Fermes, if your Sedo transfer agent asked you to send the file, then the buyer has paid, as we don't start the transfer until the money is there.

To Cab-A-Len, I won't lie to you, this happens much more often than we'd like, although since we started getting tougher in terms of locking non-payers from making bids on other domains, it has happened less. At 22 days, it's your call whether to keep waiting or cancel and find a new buyer.

Please contact your transfer agent for more information.

Regards,

Shaun
