Just got in - nice enough price, sedo fees and any vat will be a kicker to come out of it

Did better than I expected based on dodgy end time and 'normal' auction.

Interesting to see where it ends up, and as has been said, its not a deal until its moved and paid!

How does VAT work when Sedo's involved? Can the seller invoice for the amount + VAT, or are they going to have to fork out the VAT from the sold amount. And is the VAT due on the whole 91,500 or only on the "X" of (X+VAT)=91,500?

According to sedo any final auction price must include VAT. Looks as if the seller will take away just over £70k.

Unless the seller isn't VAT registered (very possible given the whois is a named person rather than a business)

Wouldn't this one sale push them over the VAT threshold, on its own?

Not if it's done as a personal transaction, the VAT threshold only applies it's done through a business.

It's quite likely to be done personally as CGT relief etc applies and CGT rates are lower than would be the case to take the cash via a LTD company.

Which may well explain why the .co.uk is in one name and the .com is in another at the same address.
