Wonder if there is more too it that meets the eye at first glance. Like did the rights holder contact sedo several times but their email didn't get a response so the judge thought they were taking the pee.......

That's a hefty fine compounded by the order to publish the details on Sedo's homepage for a month. I think the type of ads being served (adult ones) has had a bearing on this as it says the trademark holder's image has been damaged by them.

getting older has a lot of problems especially when you are a teenager and live under french jurisdiction

now its time for sedo to mature and accept responsibility for their operational activities else retire early

Sedo is a German company, how can they make them pay?

It would appear that Sedo have accepted the court's decision as I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted to publish those details on their homepage if they didn't have to. Anyway my understanding of the EU, is that we hold common citizenship, with the EU laws overiding any national laws, and a court decision in one country is binding in another.

There no such thing as bad publicity (especially in this case). It's free, It reaches people who don’t read your advertising, People tend to treat newspaper news etc as news and news is more believable than advertising...? Sedo are getting quite nice commissions on .fr sales although they are less than other cctlds the prices are quite high so doubt they would want to rock the boat probably the best 95000 euros they ever spent...?

Maybe they should get rid of there marketing, PR departments and just get fined could be cheaper and more cost effective
