They can do it!

Sedo usually get a rough time on here but credit where it's due. I sold a fixed price name at 13.02 today and at 14.37 the buyer had the domain in his name and I had a credit note.

Thanks Sedo!

Yeah, and those German bank fees that are skimmed of your amount.

If you use paypal there are no fees.

I've had a flood of domain sales on sedo this week - not sure why but maybe at last all the extra sales channels they are opening up are delivering - but all have gone smoothly. If I am getting a constant trickle of sales then I am happy to pay a fee. Obviously I wish it was lower but it beats flogging my names on here for £20.

Stephen.

How can people begrudge a company a miserly 10% or 15% commission when their own mark-up is exponentially greater?

It may not be greater, it could well be that you are trading a name at a loss.

I guess it depends on both how and why the buyer came via Sedo. If they delivered a NEW buyer, then there's nothing to begrudge and it's a great service. If they delivered a buyer that would have found you anyway, it's essentially a "tax" for sitting in the middle but not contributing to the process.

Domain Trader Rating:
(100% / 105)
I'm sure it was just a glitch

Sorry Edwin I disagree, to me, at 10% it's a value added escrow service.

Websaway, I dont understand your point, are you saying that it's Sedo's fault if you choose to sell a name at a loss? You set the price so you can load 10% on your margin to cover the commission.
