We have a US company wanting to lease a domain for a few years. The domain is valuable so I want a valid agreement, if we are to go ahead. Our regular law man is not really familiar with domains, and is rather busy.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Hi

A mate of mine is after the same. He's not a domainer and just has one nice name which someone wants to buy but the buyer only wants to pay for in the future when he's made money from it (some people...). So a lease is the perfect option.

Does anyone have a draft agreement they could send?

    Many thanks
    John

Yea, you could try domainsforlet.com ;)

They also have a lease and for sale form. You need to register for free to download.

Yes I have but the website is only two months old so it's still early days yet. It has gaining popular though so fingers crossed. ;)

Is there a risk of leasing a domain to someone, and then them building 'good faith' or applying for a TM for the name, and you losing it on DRSville ?

I mean I have 2 names that a client wanted to lease off me, but he's talking about TMs for the term and stuff like that so I have told them nah I wanna sell them or develop them not lease, but he asks every few months.
