Sorry to state the obvious, but the outlay to buy property / cars is far greater than a few £'s on a domain making the possibility to try for every "good" domain far more realistic than a car dealer at an auction buying every bargain.

I personally don't know of anyone offering this service, the forum is full of people who do this so they can make the profit and people generally keep their knowledge to themselves as this business is very much knowledge driven.

There are some domain tools available for DIY use which may allow you to spend less time on buildign lists, alternatively perhaps you could hire a clueless contractor via rent-a-coder or similiar to stuff lists into google / yahoo API's and sort the resulting outputs, but I'd still be wary of them learning the value of the lists they create for you.

As I said in the last reply, best of luck in finding someone.

Alex, thanks for your response. I think I am starting to 'see' what you're trying to teach me gently it's only been my first day here and I can tell this is much bigger and darker than I initially thought!

Alex or anyone else, Can I ask what the main business model is in this "expired domains" market? is it profiting by buying low and selling high, or are people actually doing it for SEO traffic and future speculation?

Thanks for your patience!

A bit of all of your suggestions really, there is also site development - mini site - mostly to host advertising, full site - either shop or other revenue generation, others use parking (namedrive, sedo and others) where you get a share of advertising revenue, I'm sure there are other models including "cybersquatting" but that is not looked on too favourably by most here.

I think there is a market out there, if you are willing to look (or as you are) willing to pay someone to look, you just have to have to search where other people havnt/arnt. it does limit things just looking for backlinks as very good ones will be taken up fast, but if you go on exact searches (that alot of people on here talk about) then there is a very big field where you can pick up domains at a few £ and sell them on for a few more £. sorry to say the chances of you buying a domain for £7 reg fee and selling it on for £xxxx is a very long shot. but if you want to make a few pounds here and there then it is possible. (remember a enough pounds here and there you can live on) Hope this helps
