| Junior Member | Selling a Domain - Proceedure I am in the process of selling a domain (negotiations) but wnat to know a little bit more about the process. Its a .co.uk domain. The buyer wants to use Escrow as a payment agent (anyone had any experience using them, they seem to handle only US$) and how exactly do they work. From I see, the buyer has to accept the good(s) before payment is released, meaning after he has my completed forms he could just refuse (am I protected as much as he). I figured I could counter this by not sending my ID with the forms and wait for Nominet to contact me, but can I rely on this method? Any thoughts or experiences? Next, I think the domain is going to be hosted at godaddy.com. How do I go about transfering the IPS tag for them, is it straight forward. Thanks in advance. |

| Junior Member | I use Escrow.com and it works fine. And customer support is good. Once Escrow.com receives the buyer's payment, you transfer him the domain. |

![]() | Ive used Escrow.com in the past. They hold the money until the transfer has completed, they will check the whois for an update and then forward payment. In most cases you would ask the buyer to pay the fee's or go 50/50. I also had to pay an additional charge to send the money to my bank account, something like $10. Just complete the transfer forms here.. Transfer If you want to change the TAG then that would need to be whilst the name is still under your control, normally you would do that at your registrars control panel. Otherwise just leave it as is and they can change the TAG once its been transfered to them. |

As long as the name is registered to your personal name then Nominet will (or should) always ask for ID before completing the transfer.. if the name is registered to a company then they wont ask for ID.

List of Tag Holders TBH I would'nt bother running around in circles. If your buyer has not given you correct details then its really tough luck to him. Do the transfer and let him sort out the TAG change.
