It's not that they needed the money -
More, just to keep everything on its "sweet sweet course" - Nothing unusual in that
minus the auctions site fees ,backhanders and administration charges they might get £200k if there very very lucky
so one hand gave it to the other?
hardly a donation lol
It's just an opportunity for self promotion, the money could hardly have stayed in Nominet UK coffers anyway, so making out it's a donation is a cheap attempt to gain the cred for flogging domains it would have had no rights to gain from!
