I was looking for a link for Halfords (I use their screenwash) and found VigLink have them and a bunch of others.

Anyone used them ?

viglink.com/?vgref=4068828 (aff link)

I've been out the affiliate game for a while, so possible I've just missed them.

Yeah used them many years ago when I had my larger sites, its hit and miss depending on the niche and traffic. Like-wise Skimlinks ( used to be viglinks main competitors ) were better in some niches because of different merchants they each had. In both cases you'd do much better identifying the main merchants you are generating from and using your own link inserts across the site to cut out the middle man commission........but that also involves legwork so Viglink and Skimlinks are a nice easy integration with a large amount of potential merchant matches.

It was a nice supplemental revenue to direct adverts and Adsense, but it requires a significant amount of traffic to work. Forums were ideal but I normally only set it to show for guests as it got irritating for members.

I used to work with Viglink but their failure to resolve a major tracking issue resulted in me switching over to skimlinks instead.

I was only really looking at them for 1 single affiliate (Halfords) I can't really see anyone else on there which I would use which isn't on Awin/Affili/PoR. I haven't looked down the whole list though.

I don't have the traffic any more to run the numbers, so its more general content and hitting some well placed affiliate links as a supplemental income.

I would be wary of passively promoting random merchants these days, tbh. amazon might be your best bet unless there is a really strong match elsewhere?

Amazon 'one link' or whatever it is called is a game changer.

You can insert an Amazon link and it will direct visitors to a product on their local site (geo).

Need Amazon.com account for this, can't do it via Amazon.co.uk.

I know people who used to use viglink because they couldn't get an ebay affiliate account (epn?). They could earn money from ebay via a viglink account. Think I've got that right, it was a long time ago.

Correct.

AFAIK still no barrier to joining up with Viglink, whereas Skimlink you have to apply for approval.

btw:

Skimlink are showing Halfords as 3% com, 1.7% conversion, 5p a click and average order of £91

Dunno how that compares with viglink or direct but it's not brilliant especially since you have to take a lot of these figures with a pinch of salt?
