I'm just saying, looking at the mb alone, it doesn't look like justifying £250k. If I was you and they're spending money, sell the domain to them. In fact everyone on here tomorrow will be emailing their business and training and info domains tomorrow haha

But you need to take into account their members are business owners that adds a higher value then non-business forum members.

I took that into account, just not much traffic for 16000 members. maybe their input, loyalty and readership is worth more.

I'm a regular and paid up member. THey have a paid membership scheme that costs £36/year.

It's very good for small business owners, but as to being worth £250k...

As I said in a previous thread, that price was paid for the business as a whole. Site, members, forum etc. The domain was just part of that, and not a very good one really!

I'd say that without a strong active community, businessforums.co.uk is worth a low £xxx

I would agree with Jee's statements above, I'm a member at UKBF too, and its a great community. I feel the price tag was based on the members, and its potential, as well as its established search engine positions and reputation.

The value is in the site for sure, not just the domain.

They have an interesting business model £36 a year for members to be able to have links in their signatures, hhmmm interesting.

BusinessForums.co.uk is a great domain with a lot of potential for development, but the trouble is you have a strong competitor already in the site you have referenced, it would take you years or a lot of marketing ££ to reach the membership they have.

AcornDomains proves that although a great generic domain is very valuable and recommended, it's the forum content / members itself that has the most value.

WOW guys you dont say i was thinking it was just for the domain name

Come on guys the point of me posting this article is to show opportunity of setting up a business forum and having a domain name which is keywords make it easy to remember and gives you a higher listing on google and other search engines, its not to point out he was payed £250k i what £250k more like £350k lol

As for low £xxx know that is funny

Thanks admin but i was thinking of setting up the forum and go to the business exhibitions and hand out business cards to visitors or rent a stand for the day, i think that would be a cheaper why to get members to the forum.

I should think the up to £250k spenders would buy your domain for more than £1k, ask them. but then, sometimes, there is no logic to some director thinking. I've come across the dopiest.
