    Absolute madness in my opinion!!

I thought when they were looking for a manager they were focussing on someone who knew about tactics and stuff (Houllier + Deschamp) or someone who could build something out of nothing (Redknapp), but Keggy is just a bizarre choice!

Keagan knows about attacking football at the expensive of defense. The defense at Newcastle is a shambles and has been their major problem for years!! Mike Ashley is too close to the fans and has let his heart rule his head with going for KK.

still remember his rant at Fergie back in 1996:

"I'll love it if we beat them, love it"

He is a bottler, when things get tough he just walks away.

crap decision, mind u newcastle r a crap club anyway with fans who think there bigger than they are!

    bring on utd-newcastle games! woohoo!

Mad or Not (the jury is out) what it WILL do, success or failure, is put an end to the 'glory days, we are a big club, shearer is our saviour, king kev' bullshit that was the demise of Alardyce and his predecessors.

It's their chance for the rest of us non-geordie mere mortals to tell them to put-up-or-shut-up. I spend 8yrs in Newcastle just before the Keegan era. I know what it means to them, and just how much they miss the mines and the pit boots.

Mad or not £350 in my back burner thanks to him taking the job,

    Emperor Keeeeeeeegan,

Must admit it was a punt and didn't think he'd ever take it, but sure glad he has, fantastic team to watch under him. Plus he has the money to spend now and in June.

Thing with Keegan is, he is the only manager that won't be considered to be keeping the seat warm for Shearer.Anyone else no matter what they did would have been looking over their shoulder.

    Good choice

I think it will cover the £220'ish I have on Mick McCarthy at Ireland, that one should pay out around £4000'ish.

Be nice if that comes in.
