Breakaway group of Google employees have set up cuil.com in direct competition;
not a good start
Means Balls in french aka Testicles (at least if you add a letter).
And for gods sake dont get the i and the l the wrong way round.
Was that a general typo yourself or did someone already know that url
lol, it popped windows up at me just as my GF was entering the room, she didnt believe my explanation
But actually, if you when you launch a site you get so much attetion that your site collapses, it might not be such a bad start after all!
It means you made a lot of noise, and that's not that bad
They need to get their image allocation sorted. I checked a dozen or so of my Google phrases (page ranked 1, position <=10) to see if my commercial site was well listed there too, only to see my images allocated to my competitors!
I think their algorithms need a bit of tweaking, that's pretty sloppy for a company that borrowed $33M to launch the business!
that image thing is fraught with difficulty.
I searched for my office supplies site office supplies and if you look at the listing on the right for shopperuk.com it seems that they've grabbed the tesco logo for the image.
Try acorndomains.co.uk, listed 9,044 results, pictures of puppies, .. ahhh
Results 1 - 10 of about 66,000 for acorndomains.co.uk
Does anyone else think it's a poor name to choose?
Yes. You can see their thinking, lets be googlesque and go with something 'different'.
Will lose loadsatraffic to cool.com and others, shocking choice really.
Perhaps they didn't "leave" google but their skills were not quite suitable?
Separate names with a comma.
