For the 2nd time in a month, I've wanted to register a pretty obscure 3 word combo domain name and have found hugedomains want $2k for the .com, all other extensions are free

    Really really depressing..

Possibly not as obscure as you originally believed.

Pointless thread really. Either make an offer on the domain name or move on. This is how it has always been.

Despite what you might like to think, given that someone else beat you to registering it, it's perfectly possible that someone else, other than if HugeDomains had registered it, would also have beaten you to it.

Homeschoolsocial.com is a nice domain, I can see where you're going with that one.

Well I'd have thought it would be somewhere that remote/home schooled children and/or parents could come together online, or a site that promotes events where such parents and children could come together and meet up.

    Might be completely wrong though!

Isn't the point of home schooling so they don't meet up? :)

No Frosties. Are you? As you brought it up, ellipses are commonly three dots and not two. :)

Lots of the "home school *" domains seem to have gone, obviously a popular area?!

Can you define "lots" in the specific context for us, with lots of examples, please? :)

OK - now this really is a pointless thread, as the OP - I might request for removal.

Some parents in our area were advised to homeschool as there was either no places, or the schools were soooo poor.

Homeschoolers currently use yahoo forums to communicate so I'm making an auth site for them to get busy.

Problem is - most are hippies with no money so it probably won't make much ££ even if it does get popular.

In respect of the content of the first post I do agree with your ascertain that it is a pointless thread. However I disagree that it should be removed and instead feel that it should be turned into a sticky thread and forever more referenced as a very useful example of a totally pointless thread here on this forum. Whenever someone has been tempted to start a pointless thread others can simply reference this as an example. It might even go someway towards reducing the number of pointless threads and posts on this forum which would be a service to us all. :)

Admin please sticky this thread, close it and rename it "Example of a pointless thread" (EOAPT). Thank you.
