    Hi all,

    DesignForums(.co.uk)

Recently purchased this from a fellow Acorn Domains forum member via Sedo auction, just wondered what sort of price it might be worth? Just out of curiosity really as planning to develop :)

(Also picked up the .org of the same name)

    Thanks,
    Greg

This has good development potential, but the most accurate valuation would be what you recently paid for it, are you going to tell us how much you paid for it?

Yes sorry forgot to include that in first post, I paid £275 (public knowledge on Sedo anyway)

Which I thought was a fair price, and as you rightly point out, its all in the execution ;)

Yes, I think at that price that was a good buy, the name has great potential to become an authority for UK web design / graphic design so good luck in developing your site.

Good domain IMO. Can be worth more than you paid for it should you setup and promote a forum. Forums are hard to establish mind you.

    Good luck!

Nice domain & fair price Greg, not one that you would make too much on by flipping I would think but certainly worth a bit more than you paid, one that needs developed out for sure.

Thanks everyone, and yes definitely developing, going to be focused on graphic/web design, and also on the business side of being a freelancer/design agency in the UK. I didn't want to be too generic as there are so many well established general design forums already.

Thanks :) I was looking at designerforum.co.uk earlier actually! Any interest in selling?

You've done a great job in creating a good looking forum site there and I'm sure you're going to receive some decent traffic. First impressions are very good.

Have you posted about it at affiliates4u.com as I'm sure you'd get some traffic from there too.

Thanks accelerator, appreciate your comments, it's taken me long enough to get it how I wanted it to look in my mind! :p

Haven't posted over at A4U yet but will do when I have a chance, been contacting all my design contacts and trying to spread the word in the design world so will hopefully continue the good start :)

    Thanks,
    Greg

Thanks bb99, going a bit off topic from my site (strange I know lol) how do you find a dual monitor setup? do you get more work done, heard a lot of people saying it increase productivity?

    Cheers,
    Greg

Definitely more productive but maybe it's all in the mind. It's great for cutting/pasting between things and when you need to refer to one thing whilst doing another. Obviously you can do the same by moving from window to window in the same monitor, but it's so much easier with dual.

With hardware being so cheap these days, you'd be mad not to!

I normally run 3 and could not go back to just one! Big productivity boost, use a Matrox TripleHead2Go box if you want an easy multi-monitor solution.

How about a directory listing of designers and a forum to accompany the listing ?
