I'm looking at the list of domains on snapcheck and checking the validity of the Google links and as far as I can tell, not many have valid links.

    What's the crack there then?

    cheers

When a domain expires, more often than not the links in Google go with it...i've had problems with this many times when developing domains that were once indexed by Google.

I registered one domain with a view to development, I wasn't aware that the domain was once active until I checked archive.org, Google just wouldn't index the site at all...some sort of blacklist.

The reason they do this is to keep the searches relevant as possible (no dead links).

Another thing to consider is if you are checking "domain.com" rather than just domain.com in google.

    Like this:

    Without:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=acorndomains.co.uk&meta=

    Linkto:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&lr=&q=link:GKFlFcIllJYJ:acorndomains.co.uk/

    Indexed pages:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&lr=&q=site:acorndomains.co.uk

    Contain the term:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&lr=&q="acorndomains.co.uk"

Try all these different searches to gauge links (Contain the term being the most revelant in my eyes) :)

Thanks guys but I'm still confused by this.

I don't mind saying the domain name as I'm not going for it anyway :

    www.kelkoopro.net

When you check the links it says there's 577,000 of them but if you view the source of any of them (inc cached versions) there's no sign of the link.

    Any ideas?

    thanks again

It's getting its link status & PR from the registrar.. the domain is showing PR-8 same as networksolutions.. I've seen this a couple of times before.. I had a domain that showed same PR & links for 123-reg.. the domain was forwarded to thier affiliate link..

    Admin - I did post the domain : www.kelkoopro.net

The links don't have a link to the registrar either :S

Bit of a scam to advertise that it has all those links and pr when it doesn't or just a genuine mistake?

If you saying Snapcheck are trying to scam you, I don't see how they can. This is a free service and it's completely automated...it's just a guide....before commiting money to anything you should 100% check all the results.
