Guys & Gals (Assume we have ladies on the forum - hope so !)

Anyone know how to get this tool to use proxies for the nominet whois lookups ? from what I can work out the programme is coded to use Port 43 & when selecting to use proxies it still fires out the Nominet who-is request directly ?

    Thanks

    Dear

I emailed tech support at DRT. Apparently their product should use Web Whois first and then resort to Port 43 Whois if that fails. They have also just spotted the same problem I noticed about not using the proxies at all, so I guess it is a bug.

Will update this thread if I have any news.

    Best Regards

I've an idea that it might be because an HTTP web proxy won't work for a TCP whois port 43 query.

    I just received this e-mail

    Hello,

This was fixed and an update was released a few minutes ago.

Now DRT will utilize proxies (if available) for whois .co.uk scans.

Keep in mind that the “use proxies for whois” (last checkbox) must be checked in the “Proxy Settings” screen in order for this feature to work.

    Thanks,

    Luc Lezon

It was a bug after all - I have to say a very prompt and super quick update to a reported problem.

Yep now the programme does not load - it checks for an update which it has already updated and shuts itself down again??

    Anyone else getting this? :(

Yep, I was too DB. I had to download the new setup.exe and just installed it again (without uninstalling the old version). Worked for me.
