I would like to know some more about .me domains. Not .me.uk ect just domain.me. How much will they be worth?

I reserved tag.me, dont know if I got it yet though. How much is it worth and how can you even trade them?

I tried to establish this on another thread, but am currently not convinced they are worth the registration fee.

Trading would indicate someone would pay more than that for them, so on that point I would disagree.

Generally speaking, the ones to go for will always be:

    .com
    .net
    .co.uk
    .de
    (perhaps .org!)

All the rest, with the exception of obvious odd keyword names in each type, really only have value if they have use, such as your own trademarks, trading names, etc. It's rare indeed to see any other extensions thrown up when used for click ads, minisites, etc.
Of all the others though, I'm not convinced .mobi will stay consigned to this group. It's a global, it has a platform, and despite the obvious arguements regarding browser or device detection, it's the only extension with the market infrastructure to elevate it to the pack above.

Trouble is they are only going to be good for a few top domains, f***.me lend.me

But the brand is never going to have the depth of something like carrepairs.me etc

So the brand will not survive and probably be pointless apart from the top 1000 names, and they won't increase in value when the other junk comes out next year.

    ^ Exactly right.

The same happened with .tv extensions. A few freak permutations which have marketable value, all the rest are fodda for hype vulnerable domainers who feel compelled to buy into something on the crest of a wave.

It's those who run the domain 'industry' itself who are as much to blame, they know what they're doing, and are happy to hype it up to a less than savvy mass market. "Get it before it's gone, Gov'ner".

I also think that .me is going to be very strong for certain phrases, and I have started buying a few.

Unfortunately any value will be immediately halved when they bring out .my next year.

Maybe the odd few worth the reg fee, but wouldn't put too much effort into it mate.

    All the best

Too late! Amongst others I've registered reviewby.me which I think is an absolute cracker.

    Cheers

I wanted insure.me and it's still under auction but at a current $26000 I won't be getting it.

Cracking domain for the right person though.

I think with .me its only worth something if someone wants that domain badly.
