I took a wrong turn on the outskirts of Llanelli many years ago.
As I trundled down a bleak, empty road I noticed some corrugated sheet fencing ahead that straddled the road, and three angry looking 20-somethings hanging around.
I turned around and left in good time.
Later found out it was a gypsy camp, so I guess they were the bouncers.

As Michael Jackson once sang "I'm a lover, not a fighter" (The Girl is Mine c. 1982)

I once caught 2 leaving my garden as they stole anything that was metal.

In a rage, I jumped in my car and went to cut them off at the end of the lane.

At the end of the lane, I waited for them to emerge and saw they had a pile of metal in a pull along truck. I walked up to them rather croseed and said, "Those are mine, I'm having them back."

The guy was quite apologetic and the other one pulling the truck said nothing.

The 'traveller' continued to apologise, to which I asked him the simple question "How the **** can you be sorryfor blatantly nicking stuff from my garden??"

I had managed to get my metal cat and dog bowls back and returned home.

The police had arrived in that time as the neighbours saw them in my garden and called them. I said to the the police that it's all sorted and I had returned my stolen items and the response I had from them was that I was very foolish to even challenge them !!

Not very reassuing hey, especially as they said they would not be prepared to visit thier temporary location to question them!!!

There was one more occasion when another member of their party was caught in my garden. This time, I opened the back door and let go of my English mastiff. She cornered him in the garden and appeared very aggressive towards him, and I ran over to threaten the guy too( with the dog ;) ).

Suprisingly, I never had any problems after that :)

haha, they 'moved' in about a mile away !!

Never heard of a fench mastiff though?? Anyone ?? ;)

Most dogs have an innate ability to defend their territory to any stranger, you're welcome to come and say hello anytime. I now have a lovely 'soft' Tibetan Mastiff that would love to say hello too :)
