Sorry mate, this is one to stay well clear of. You are going to make little friends getting involved in domain names and this incident.

What about using it to list other names of abductors / pedophiles that are free to register or that you own?

You could list futher names, say Adobe10.com Brawngp.net 1aol.com NOKIAS.ORG AbodeAcrobat.com etc that you seem to have, just to really ram home that 'domaining' is a great business.

Any worldwide news story from Jacksons death, Mcann kid going missing, terror attacks, school shootings - you name it - domains get registered and stories appear about 'domainers' cashing in.

All registrants have great intentions(!), but the base level is that will only get interest because of what has happened.

Opportunistic is one thing, but IMHO this is over the line.

Out of interest, what type of name would you not register?

You obviously don't think the mainstream press are capable of reporting the story then?

And this would be a not for profit site would it? Providing a public service

In what direction do you intend to develop that?

It would probaby be better than hosting it on a X-Factor contenders domain name http://www.danyljohnston.com/garridos.htm - again something that does 'domainers' well, see susanboyle.co.uk press.

As for 'continuous updates' does that mean 'continuous copying and pasting from proper news sites nicking their content'?

Thats a good one, perhaps I ought to take a leaf out of your productivity book and register a name of a pedophile, who is also looking likely to be charged with multiple murders, then place a load of nicked content on there and host it on another domain which is again registered in haste hoping that someone elses fame will mean it does well.

Actually, I would literally prefer to have *nothing* to do than do all of that.

I'm sorry, but I think this is in very bad taste and just not appropriate.

However, the final decision is yours and I wish you well whatever you decide! :)

I think Google news achieves that quite well already.
