    OK another n00b question (apologies).

Are .info domains something that are sought after? Do they value well (especially for 4 letter dictionary domains)?

Go to www.dnjournal.com and go through their sales archives
Quality generics do well well in all tlds
'Info' means the same thing in dozens of languages too.
Travel.info (exceptional domain) sold recently in $xxx, xxx range
Generally considered perfect for geo domains. All the countries are alocated their info domain, not all use.
    Spain.info is a good example
Could go on forever. Lots of research for you to be done
If you are a developer many good ones to be had cheap imo

    Excellent, thanks for that.
Do you happen to know how long it takes for a previously registered .info domain to drop after expiration?

I have found one that shows as available but when I try to register it says unavailable.

    Who is shows the following:

    Expiration Date:1-Aug-2006
    Status:INACTIVE
    Status: DELETE PROHIBITED
    Status:RENEW PROHIBITED
    Status:TRANSFER PROHIBITED
    Status:UPDATE PROHIBITED
