    Where do I find this, just been through my control panel and see nothing where I can switch it off?

    I take it that it's only some users that get the notification then? I therefore assume there are settings to prevent PM notifications?

    EDIT:

    Ah, did you mean we can change the settings ourselves or is it an admin setting?

    I quite like it (very facebook/Daily Mail).
    The Green and Red arrow system of the Mail adds to the spirit of the comments page

    I don't know why people are getting confused between a PM and a simple notification, a PM gives you a pop up box saying you have a new message and a like notification doesn't.
