I know Nominet are carrying out work today, just did a whois on some domains that should have dropped today, showing as 'renewal required' rather than suspended.

I would imagine this is something that will be corrected before the changes are completed. :???:

Can just imagine every name that should be suspended getting another 2 years registration and every other registered name being deleted.

I'm showing ALL presuspended and postsuspended domains as registered.

i.e all domains previously marked as suspended before renewal date e.g. shop4cash.co.uk

and domains marked as suspended and have missed their drop date e.g advisorlink.co.uk

I've turned off everything until I'm settled that they've got their house in order.

If it's still the same tomorrow am I'll be spamming Nomtech

Done a quick look at the next few days and everything that as showing as 'suspended' is now showing as 'renewal required'

God only knows what will happen tomorrow in terms of drops.

Our efforts to migrate all our data to the new database structure have
been completed. However, a number of the services that rely on the
database are not performing as we would expect. The Automaton, DAC, Online
Services and PRSS are all affected. Work is progressing on fixing the
issues with these services but we will not be bringing them back online
until tomorrow, Monday 11 June, at the earliest.

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.

I hope their efforts include putting the data back in the same state they found it!! Sure it's all under control.

We can translate the above to one line..

"We have completed our upgrade, but nothing works."

Can only hope after all this something was done to level the playing field again?

Don't think there'll ever be a totally 'level playing field'.

But atm I'm more concerned with them restarting the automaton while a large number of domains are still incorrectly showing non-suspended states.

Just got notification that the names not showing as suspended on whois are now showing the SUSPENDED status correctly.

Any further whois inconsistencies let me know and I'll pass them on now I've got direct contact.

Seems to be ok from what I've seen, but I've not done a full check. And haven't checked DETAGGED.

Nah integrating systems so they can do their own deleting, offer a subscription service with the eventual outcome of auctioning domains to the highest bidder completely wiping out low level domaining and even stretching the budgets of top level domainers.

    haha nightmare
