    Another story from the bbc

It means the brewery, based in Greenwich, south-east London, can launch a new web address - meantimebrewing.london - which it thinks will help its
    business.

I can see that outside the pub

They should just stick with the .com oldbrewerygreenwich com

Indeed, Rolf Larsen, an IT industry entrepreneur and chief executive of Dotglobal, which is set to launch in Singapore next month, says he believes this is a "once in a lifetime chance".

He has invested plenty of his own money in an ambitious attempt to secure his own top-level domain, which he hopes will be seen as a welcome alternative to a .com suffix.

You've got to hand it to the people being interviewed, though - just by saying "yeah, we'll probably (cross my fingers) switch to whatever.blahblahblah" they're getting publicity from the BBC. So from that point of view, yes, a new GTLD does bring added publicity :)

Do you have to become an ICANN registrar to register .london domains when they are released or will nominet members be able to?

Neither. You can use any of the registrars that sell them. I expect most of the big ones will.

Sorry, I phrased my question badly. I meant to say, how do you become a registrar for .London ?
