On the money that one... £3-5k to an end user... Possibly more....
What .org.uk is all about...
Most domainers wouldn't see it right now but hey, most domainers today didn't see .com, .net, ,org, .co.uk either... LOL
15 - 20% of that figure on a trade sale... Based on the fact it would need to be held onto and possibly developed to realise full potential..
What a fantastic domain. Very jealous! Hang onto if i were you & this is one to definitely pull your finger out on. Get marketing & approaching weightwatchers, slimmersworld, healthcare companies, life insurance etc
This is a classic example of a key generic being better on a .org than a .co
Obviously we would all want the .com, but it gives it an air of respectability & i would imagine the direct typein on the .org.uk is good.
I normally always take a good offer, on this one i would want minimum 2k, minimum. It's made for a tv campaign. If you wait, 5 times that. Healthcare, food etc is worth billions & even if you only confine it here, ditto. Cheers, Predator
i'm not so sure - decent single word org.uk's drop everyday.
org to me means charity or community, i'd feel guilty selling it to them for good money - as a profit making business i wouldn't be looking to be second level domain ext commonly associated with charities and help groups etc?
They don't feel guilty investing billions on the global stockmarkets...
Next to investment banks, they come second...
I've more than one .org.uk that they would love to get their hands on but their is no way that I'd sell them unless I had an arrangement in place that ensured funding went directly to related concerns as the amount of funds that are wasted on admin etc, p's me off...
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for investing to release interest and profits for aid operations etc... BUT... the key thing is, from what I can see, when a crisis arises... Rather than release funding, they go on the scrounge for more... Shell out first... Scrounge after...
Children starve and go without, while they fund raise... DIABOLICAL...
That said, they do more than Govt.'s that promise 100's of millions in the media spotlight... Only to backdown on promises once the cameras depart and Joe Public has stumped up the bill...
weightwatchers, slimmers world etc not charities!
have to disagree with you. yeah words drop all the time. but obesity is not a charity word. weightwatchers, slimmers world etc in fact the whole food industry has a huge dieting, healthcare side. there's lots of money to be made for them . UK is getting fatter, like the US too.
as discussed on previous posts, not just this type of domain interested in anyhow. there so many great generic, memorable words to be had , more & more smaller companies are realising if you can't get or can't afford the .co.uk, there are no restrictions to stop you having .org.uk it just so happens for things like obesity it gives you an added air of respectability. just what the food giants want when they are going to take advantage of the fatties. one thing i will agree on , barnados.org.uk was sold recently back to them. i thought that was a little naughty, & probably a little bit of infringement. however, i've got no problems with religious ones. i'll sit back & wait for that gravy train. religion seems to cause all the bollo**s in the world as it is. the catholic church have done very well stealing from the poor & giving to the rich. amen
Exactly how I saw it too...
I can't see what you would use it for other than an obesity charity/helpline?
I see .org as organisations only. it's not like you can sell mailorder celery on it?
Just my opinion.
Cant some traffic which pays nicely. So cant complain!
.org.uk is for non profit making organisations. Weightwatchers etc wont buy it for that reason alone.
Put some diet links on there - if you are feeling bold join Weightwatchers affiliate program on CJ.com and put a banner on there.
org.uk has been round as long as .co.uk and it isnt going to suddenly boom. 50+ .org.uk domains drop a day and very few get picked up unless they have traffic.
If it has traffic you could get a 24 months revenue multiple from a traffic domain buyer, apart from that there is no value at all in the domain name itself.
Separate names with a comma.
