Yes. They will jump on you.

They were even at one stage trying to prosecute companies that have ha dOlympic in their tiltle for many many years. But I understand that got thrown out eventually.

    What are the Games' Marks?
The words ‘London 2012’ and ‘2012’
The words ‘Olympic’, ‘Olympiad’, ‘Olympian’ (and their plurals and things very similar to them – eg ‘Olympix’
The words ‘Paralympic’, ‘Paralympiad’, ‘Paralympian’ and their plurals and things very similar to them – eg ‘Paralympix’
The Olympic motto: ‘Citius Altius Fortius’ / ‘Faster Higher Stronger’
The Paralympic motto: ‘Spirit in Motion’
    London2012.com (and various derivatives)

How they can conceivably think that they can copyright "2012" I just don't know.

Does any one know if they really can stop you using "2012" as a domain name or is it just hear say ?

I really thing that if they try and trademark a number, and calendar date after all, they will get shot down either by challenge or just rejected.

London2012 is a whole different matter though...

I've always had an issue with the 'Olympics' claiming rights, as they have been going on for THOUSANDS OF YEARS - so imho it's public domain, and just another corrupt company set up to rake in millions or billions with a corrupt government/country by endless promotions & selling via the TM equivalent of 'reverse hijacking'.
