123-reg is currently down, although I noticed this problem started earlier. Most of my domain forwarding isn't buggering working but I suppose the net can't stay up 100%. :(

If there has been a problem in the past NameDrive have more than compensated people so no need to panic

I noticed it about 9:00 or so this morning. Seems to be a DNS server issue. I am wondering if ND are suffering another DOS attack on their DNS servers.

Aye, definitely looks like a DNS issue.

If you put one of your (non-forwarded) domains into www.dnsreport.com then you'll see that:

We do work weekends and we are down.

We have been on high alert all week and we knew this was coming as we've heard from certain quarters that certain people have been guaranteeing that our servers will go down any time soon. Seems they have held true to their word and have launched another DDOS attack on us. We've been working the last couple of hours to get over this. URL Forwarding does work, it is only a DNS issue as far as I can tell.

Outrage indeed that people feel the need to do this.

We will compensate so you guys lose nothing as a result of this.

It looks like it's going to be a few hours' earnings as we've been down since around 1pm UK time. At least Saturday is the lowest-earning day of the week.
I will post an update as soon as we have got round the problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience, people. We will ensure that you lose nothing because of this.

    Hi Ed

I have most of my domains forwarded and the parking pages for them are not working either.

    Hi there,

    Step 1 complete.

Pages back up. We were all dragged in from our various Saturday activites to react to this. Still sitting here with hat and anorak on...
Now the fun bit starts. Working out what caused this and finding out how much we have to fork out for compensation.

Sorry for the inconvenience, guys. At least it got me out of shopping in H&M.

    Ed

p.s. as far as 'people' are concerned, these are rumours from rumours I've heard from some of our customers, so I cannot possibly comment. It was the first thing that came to my head. Having heard from 3 separate sources last week that 'NameDrive's servers can't handle the traffic', I was not surprised to get the call to get online immediately...

We still don't know what the exact cause is, but the chain of coincidence suggests serious foul play. Once we have investigated the causes etc, it will be easier to comment. I'm not trying to shift the blame here as this shouldn't happen, but the timing seems too precise to be an unlucky mishap.

    When will this be.

I have been waiting for 8 minutes.
