You've written "amazing" almost like you've never sold a .co.uk for six figures GBP! It's good to see a registrant with a name of this quality holding out for a number like this rather than folding too early for far less.

Also the domaintools WHOIS link in the article is broken because domaintools don't don't currently recognise third level *.uk domain names when they're queried in the form of "http://domaintools.com/{domain.tld.uk}. They do however recognise many of the Centralnic pseudo domain names this way (e.g. any suffixed with uk.com). I wish they would fix this.

A working WHOIS for purple.co.uk and from the creation date it was clearly registered pre Nominet. Who was/were the registrant(s) prior to this sale?

That is true. If you can help me accomplish this, I'm willing to compensate very generously.

You can prepend "whois." before the domaintools..... query and it will work.

Yes. It's not as quick to type that when one wishes to query a domain against their WHOIS server directly from the browser address bar, unfortunately. I realise there are other services but I like domaintools and wish they'd fix this for third level *.uk domain names which I'm sure they could.

I'm not up to date on the ins and outs of this lately, but does it include the .uk?

Yes, since the new registrant has exercised the right and registered it too. WHOIS to check ROFR.

Ok, I was reading the article thinking the registrant showing was still the original registrant as it says it hasn't changed hands yet.

Ah. I'm assuming it has changed hands given the Last Updated date is 27th May 2016, the registrant is awaiting validation and the second level .uk has just been registered. I could be wrong but it seems unlikely. :)

Be interesting to see what it's used for as they seem to sell fishing gear, bedroom furniture and maybe other different products so a varied mix.

Associated company has only fairly recently been incorporated. That made me ponder whether it could be acting as a front for another, super duper sized, purchaser but the directors appear to legitimate and traceable, not nominee.

You talking about RAGS UK LTD in Ross on Wye? They've been incorporated years.

They have a very good company there, cash in bank at £1.3m in last set of accounts and net worth £1.8m.

Yes. Confusingly similar names. Good spot. Always best to go by the company number, not the name, from the WHOIS. :)

He'd have been upset if you'd kept that "e" at the end, so nice edit! :)
