I notice a lot of TagNames are suspended and from today should drop.

What are the odds that they will. From past experiences I'm not holding my breath.

    Why is Nominet so lenient?

I think they are on a 1-day auto-renew or something. They won't drop as you say.

There are tag names from weeks ago that should have dropped already.

They never go, strictlydancing.co.uk for example due to drop 2-3 weeks ago.

When you're a top 30 registrar with over 21,000 names in your account, why shouldn't you be entitled to a bit of special treatment?

I'd be expecting at least a Turkey every Christmas, and maybe even a Nominet Easter egg.

Bet it would feel good whacking that particular ball to the boundary. ;)

Maybe because part of Nominet's mission statement is:

    :)

Has anyone raised this issue with Nom?

Many times, and Nominet have always replied that there is no issue :)

Domains on my TAG seem to follow the documented process though - strange really if we are all equal! I just filter out names on this TAG from my list as it's not worth the time & effort of checking.

Tagnames isn't a special case. As I recall this is a Nominet nicety that's pretty simple to take advantage of, although I don't remember how off-hand (and wouldn't write up here anyway).

It seems as though Tagnames just doesn't like to pay their bills, bless 'em
