It is a genuine company, run by a big fish in the domain world.

Just visited the website and watched some of the contestant's videos.

Justin's fantastic idea is "a portable dispenser for carrier bags" - is he serious?

Lauren, 23, from Torquay, is giving up modelling to market hair extensions made from real human hair, so if anyone round here is bald - you're in luck.

Good program but what a let down the ideas are, an indoor helicopter - I can buy this now at Maplin.co.uk so I really don't get how this guy got through with just the idea of importing something that is here already.

The Vodka "fuka" or whatever it was she called, well it is obvious that will be binned next week, she can't even think of a marketing/business plan, what a joke, I would have hired a consultant for this even if it cost me the shirt off my back as the marketing opportunity of prime time national TV would cost 100 times as much. To come to the show with no ideas, no unique product, no branding or product name, why show up at all?

As for the student newsletter, ha ha ha

i wish i had applied (if i had known) now looking at some of those ideas

how a bin bag carrier is a worthwhile investment i don't know

what made me laugh is the fact that that woman with the vodka drink ditched a 60k job to appear on that slow :p

I remember years ago there was a one off program right at the height of the last dotcom boom, and it was almost the samething as these tycoon, dragons den, etc programs except it was about internet startups and the guys in charge were all venture capitalists looking to invest in the best idea.

If I remember correctly the guy who eventually won had an idea for some educational website which he sold days later for a million pounds (ah, those were the days). The only domain name I can think of used by one of the startups was composer.com (which is a blank page now).

    Anyone else remember it?

No but a shame really. Now is the time to run that sort of program. The surge started 18months-2yrs ago and is set to triple in the next 5yrs.

Shame the dotcom boom put a dampner in the present, but better for us in the long term if it's sustainable.

Just done a bit of digging and the program was called "Emillionaire Show" and was on 14 July 2000. Those seven years have sure gone fast.

Tycoon was a real let down

The ideas weren't even original. Were they really the best out of the "thousands" who applied?

I agree, where do they find these people

A bag to carry bags  I'm almost embarrassed to say I'm from Worcester as well. I might have to go round to his house and kick some sense into him :)
