Need you opinion on which is the better domain word.
I would say I depends on what other word(s) it's used with.
consider them single keywords and not a two word combination
Outdoors in my opinion if we are talking the likes of outdoors.com over outdoor.com
If it was a two word combination then again it would depend on whether the outdoor/s came at the start of the domain term or end, and indeed the second word being used. Eg OutdoorActivities.com or activitiesOutdoors.com
You're right, when you have a two word keyword is it easier to differentiate the two.
Outdoor is an adjective that usually precedes a noun, for example OutdoorGear, OutdoorGames etc
Outdoors on the other hand is a noun that follows an adjective or a verb, ex, WildOutdoors, GoOutdoors etc
But as single keywords, I wanted to know which one has more versatility for development.
Would for example Outdoors.com be better suited than Outdoor.com say for a product website (outdoor clothing etc) or a travel marketplace?
My personal preference would be the plural version in most cases.
in the case of a product website offering outdoor gear/clothing would you prefer the plural?
Outdoor is probably the better brand in my eyes
In my opinion from a branding perspective I think there is little difference and it would all be about how you applied the branding / marketing strategy.
From a development perspective - my immediate thought is that Outdoor is likely to be better but would need to research it further to say for sure.
Outdoors works much better as a brand IMHO
Though if you're going for long tail organic traffic, I would imagine outdoor is going to have much more volume, as part of a phrase
Separate names with a comma.
