PHP script wanted for memories website

I'm after a PHP script to let people subscribe or create an account and post thoughts, memories, etc to the site.

Old time sweets, Places or cities, games, people etc so it would have to be end user grown to add categories and content maybe.

This can then be searched. e.g. "sherbet UFO's Sweets", "block 123" or "East Park Splash boat"

On the lines of Friends Reunited but for memories of many things and places.

Already have a cracking domain for it just need a ready built script that would work.

Got one and have set many of these up.
But stuck on this part.

Put Directory Location :

(i.e. /var/www/html/path or /home/mysoftwo/public_html)

What do i enter ?

Server path will be specific to your hosting co. so no one here can tell you.

create a php file with this in it place in the directory you are using for your script.

phpinfo.php

open that page in a browser mydomain.co.uk/phpinfo.php go down to the bottom where it says _SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"]

you will see something like

/home/mywebsite/public_html/phpinfo.php

The path is

/home/mywebsite/public_html/

tried hotscripts but No to sourceforge.net

will do now though. went to dsespana.com and got the one im having problems with

It's hard finding one that does the job.

It never worked so sacking that script off for now. thanks anyways.

i was looking for one of these a while back, if you can pm/email me a price for custom built one that would be great.

OK...

To me, it seems like something that wordpress could do. It would handle the signups, and let users create a 'post' in categories, and they could then all comment on the different ideas.

However, it would need some tweaking, and a few other plugins installed. I've just helped setup something similar to this for a very large UK insurance company using wordpress.

The big thing involved really, is getting a nice design in there and looking good. The problem with using free templates is that if it's a good'un, everyone will be using it, and the more savvy user will just think it's 'another blog'.

I'm happy to provide quotes for setting up wordpress, providing a custom-made design for it etc, or to quote for a custom made script to do the above for you. Send me a PM

I can do the design around the build so it's just the working bones.
