I was reading this and had a look at Magento for the first time. It says it can support multiple domains from one Magento instance, has anyone tried that? Is it overkill for mini-sites? Are there any options to import affiliate product feeds? Thanks Admin |

Howdy, yes you can have multi sites running from the same install. This enables you to share products, layouts, etc all on a different domain. You can also use the same theme or a new theme. Permissions and rules on folders for the install can be a little tricky and doesn't always work on all hosts. It has lots of good features through the system. here's another one were working on but far from finished. Over kill maybe as there are lots of options for each product/page. But could easily adapt affiliates to it but it has no automated options as it is for just e-commerce really. Affiliate store is the best for affiliation really here's one setup. I've uploaded it here if anyone wants to download it. Last edited by golddiggerguy; 29-11-2008 at 12:26:21 PM. |
