For anyone else reading, this is absolutely the right thing to do even if you are limited on time - get a site up, and get it aging. Then when you want to do something with it, its far easier to rank it. Or if you want to sell it, its far easier to get top dollar for it

I think its a big point that a lot of domainers don't get.

I bought a real nice domain last week, and I paid several thousand pounds more than I probably would have normally - because the seller had the foresight to put a very small informational site on it, which ended up ranking 25 or so for its main term.

If he'd put a parking page on that, he'd probably have made £1/month. He gave up those pounds and I gave him about £2500-£3500 more than I'd have offered if he'd had a parking page.

If you develop a site thats on a parked page, you have no idea if its going to rank for the next 6 months - if it has a small info site on it, and at least in the top 100 in the search engines already, you know you are in the game right away - a massive benefit as I can start making my investment back a lot quicker!
