Prefer the layout and look of the first concept 1 Its hard to make a site eye-catching interesting etc without something to attract clients I go with speed, simplicity, easy of use which can be geared up the more in depth they want to look… One thing though what does the cartoon type character bring or say about the site? (Its not like the meer cat, churchill dog etc which are identities that are tv friendly ?) Just don’t know if that says professional knowledgeable or sort of child like to me sort of reminds me of Mr. Ben is that an effective identity to associate with it... No2 - was trying out the minimalist look. Anyway, been playing around with number two. Please let me know your thoughts and don't be afraid to be critical. The blue line at the top of the page will obviously be pushed up to the top btw. I'm not a designer by trade but have had enough of getting poor results without paying crazy money so thought I'd give it a shot! AMENDED CONCEPT

I think concept one is right and in my opinion always should keep in mind that your design should be easy navigate able then it can help your site.
