My Flash Menu in progress

This isn't a review of a whole site but I just thought I'd show you guys what I was working on this afternoon.

I'm studying a bit of Flash with Actionscript 3 and thought I'd give a menu a shot.

Here it is so far, you can hover over and click the buttons.

Flash Menu by Phil Bryden

Mods: if this isn't relevant to the board just delete it and accept my apologies.

Cheers

Phil

Muller2 is on a distinguished road

just a quick thought - search engines can't crawl links in flash so for a site that you are aiming to get the best se rank possible it might not be the best option.

But apart from that it looks good

Yeah, all my other sites a html and css.

If I do end up putting a site together with a flash menu then I'd be sure to also add an html menu at the bottom or even right at the top of the page above any banner for SEO purposes.

It's fun to experiment with things when you're learning, but I never use flash these days, I prefer very simple HTML to optimise conversion rates.

I totally agree with your both your comments guys.

I don't like to see too much flash in a site, I think it should be kept for animations, banners and games.

I'm studying Media Design for Publishing and next year we'll be doing some Flash, so I'm teaching myself early to get a head start.

I'd like to keep studying Flash with Actionscript 3 and eventually go on a find work using it.

Let me tell you one thing. Google has further improved its flash indexing capability and therefore you will not have to lag behind others in the domain of SEO. The best thing you should do is to use less images and more texts.
