| Member | Yes, holgate, and part of the reason it's so expensive over here is that UK firms are charging well over the odds in Dublin. There was a piece in one of the papers the other day, where a journalist went to Marks & Spencer and asked if she could pay for some stuff in sterling. They said, of course, but when she tried to pay the sterling price on the back of the label they said it wasn't enough and gave a much higher price than the equivalent of the euros. Don't know if the outcry will do any good, though. Still, maybe the wine will be good enough to numb your pain. Thanks, StoneRoses. I think 'frock' is such an English name that it goes very well with co.uk, don't you? Do you have anything nice yourself that you're prepared to speak about? |

| Member | Thanks, neticule. And a big thanks to you, DB - for some reason I only saw your message when I logged on this morning to respond to neticule's. You're right, you can't get more Irish than Sean Flynn. |

![]() | Hi Allie, Nice to (virtually) meet you! Welcome to the forums. It's good to hear of Dublin again. My family are mostly from the Skerries area (although they moved to the UK a couple of years before I was born). I know of a fantasy football team with the name BoysInGreen (Apex)....is there any connection? Paul |

| Member | Hi, Paul. You mean does the fantasy football team Apex have any connection with Ireland? I'd imagine they may well do, as 'the boys in green' is the unofficial name for the members of the Irish football team. I suppose they could just have happened on the name, of course, because they wear green. My son lives in Skerries. It's a nice seaside town in north County Dublin and is much more built up now than it used to be, as of course is most of Dublin. Despite this, when my husband and I were driving home from there a year or so ago a big cat (as in panther-type, not large domestic cat) bounded across the road in front of the car. A surreal moment. |

| Member | Ha! No, holgate, neither of us was drinking. You can't drink and drive here now and, believe it or not, I'm one of the 10% of Irish people who have never drunk a drop. Tea is my tipple. No, that really did happen. Extraordinary. |
