Allie will become famous soon enoughAllie will become famous soon enough

Hi from Dublin

Hi, I'm Allie and I live in Dublin. Although I bought my first domains in 2001, I'm only now getting into domaining properly (I hope). I bought my first co.uks a few weeks ago.

The co.uks I think are my best ones are:

fancyfrocks, londonlady, senseandsensibility, findthefunds, heirhunt and themayoroflondon.

Possibly my worst ones (depending on your taste) are: businessz and carsz. To me these are business and cars with that little extra something, lol.

I'm hoping to learn a lot on this forum. I belong to a couple of US forums, but I naturally feel closer to those domainers on this side of the ocean.

Welcome to the forum. fancyfrocks and londonlady are both names with potential.

Out of interest, what's the state of the .ie market? Do you know if foreigners can register .ie domains?

Rgds

I think it was boysingreen.com and theboysingreen.com, or it might have been pelargonium.com.

There was only a day or so between them, to the best of my recollection.

As far as I know to register a name in .ie you have to also have a business registered in the same name.

I believe that you can now get your own name, but it must be the full name, not either the first name or the surname on their own.

I bought fancyfrocks.co.uk and londonlady.co.uk for my daughter to develop - she lives and works in London. Also, my great-grandmother was born in Cheltenham, so I do have that little drop of English blood that draws me to co.uk.

Do you have anything interesting yourself?

Hi alie...

Also in Dublin (Swords) bank hol weekend, we are looking to re-locate the tax situation and other fringe benefits are fantastic, our pensioner relies are earning more in pension income than your average man in the st. here in UK.

Bloody expensive tho, mid range bottle of red 12 - 18 euro.
