Hi guys,

Thought I would share this information for those who (like I was) desperately in need of contacting someone with hidden who is details and no contact details around the web.

I tried this with UK2.net and it worked fine. Simply go to the forgotten password page, type in the domain (they often ask you to do this) and then press send password reset email.

This then takes you to a page which reads 'An email has been dispatched to blabla@domain.com' - so you can have their email address!

I understand this is on the borderline, especially considering they get a password reset email. But a good tactic to use when it is an urgent company matter such as mine was!

hmmm - I think it's across the border... but an out of the box way to find someone's contact details. Very cunning.

I think most 'forgot password' systems have stopped showing the email address being sent to. Usually they just say "An email has been sent to your registered address".

I'm surprised uk2 are showing the email

Godaddy is similar, if you click on forgot customer id as well, it doesnt give the full email it givex xxx@domain.com usually the name there hosting accont is registerd with, i find that this is sometimes a different domain from the one you are actually looking for, thus giving you another domain to help track this person down, i use it a lot, as i do a bit of freelance investigating for a glagow newspaper
