Question Questioning the Registered Rights TM stage

Just would like to know how he got "pc.co.uk" "c.co.uk" and "rc.co.uk" before sunrise ?

By owning appropriate trademarks, I would expect - that is how all the pre-sunrise names were allocated...

Like any other company who got domains before the landrush, he owned the appropriate TMs.

Domain Trader Rating:
(100% / 125)
a) By being cleverer than most of us and b) By putting a lot of work in.

Oh and he owns relevant trademarks as Edwin mentions which brings me back to a and b above

There are 403 TMs for the letter C, it's a mark after all.

My file servers have a cache of Scott's page, I'll dig it out for you when I have a minute. It only relates to PC though.

Not saying it's happened in this case but no doubt in others claimed on that sunrise list is that i like many other tld's around the world register a company or TM which is cheap and easy and then claim the domain in sunrise.....

Quite smart but i never though nominet would fall for this one,i wonder what nominets response to claiming a domain in sunrise then banging it up for sale right away at xx,xxx would be ?

The trade mark had to have existed for 3 years, he must have bought the trade mark off their respective previous owners.

He had the resources to do it and was clever enough to. I don't begrudge him for it, I wouldn't even if he sold one for xx,xxx

Maybe but nominet should of maybe seen that weakness which was maybe exploited or not, but at the end of the day sunrise is suposed to be for legitimate TM owners not for people to exploit,it's not about the money i could'nt give a shit,it's all about the way it was done and handled,a bit like the bankers in this country...

Well it wasn't nominet lining their own pockets.

I don't even see how 2 or 1 letter domains can even apply to identify any specific business - they have thousands of different uses and meanings, why should a business have more of a right to them than individuals.
