adsense in post

Hello,
Seen a few posts with adsense added to the top left or right inside the post article in wordpress, but what i would like to know is what do you think about doing this, Ive googled it and seem to find both negative and positive comments on whether its a good thing to do. I dont want to do this to only find that i will get penialized
What do you think, any thoughts experiences will be much appreciated

I find it extremely effective. As long as you don't exceed the max number of goog ads per page then you are fine.

Ad Injection
Is an awesome WP plugin that you can use to place ads into posts

it's not just restricted to adsense either.

You won't get penalised. The important thing is to have a good proportion of content space to ad space.

I had a site with a one or two affiliate links on most pages and Adsense on all pages. It was bouncing around the rankings a lot so I removed almost all the affiliate links (didn't touch the Adsense) and a couple of days later it started to climb pretty steadily up the rankings. Make of that what you will.

The best thing to do is test Adsense (and plenty of other things) for yourself. Don't believe people when you don't know their background, the site in question, or the other factors involved.
