Been mulling over this for a week or so now, a new idea i have and looking for some opinions

Basically i own the domain and its leased to a business, affiliate, webmaster on a monthly basis(min 6 months or so)

But with the added bonus of guaranteed google position for the keyphrase in the domain as i would only work with keyword domains.

My day job is SEO so this would suit my skills as well as the person leasing the domain as they get top 10
if it drops out of the top 10 they dont pay.

possibly looking for a domaining partner in this so as well as leaving your(honest) opinions anyone interested please get in touch

WOW that was such a long post its almost spammy :p

It depends on the demand for the items, services sold etc for the keyword domains you have ? If you have a good enough generic domain and knew it would list in in top ten of google I would firstly look for a company, manufacturer etc selling those goods And try and broker a deal on a % of sales

Although if you have enough domains rental is a nice steady income which also opens up the market more if you ever wish to sell your company as it has income as opposed to just a domain portfolio and ppc etc

You may need some caveats about site content? For example, what happens if they put something silly on the site and it gets delisted?

    Cheers, Jon

this was something i have concerns over myself, i guess this would have to be in the lease agreement about terms of use etc..

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

thanx for the input so far

A word of warning for anyone considering to work with this guy.
He's already robbed me of £150. He has not replied to emails for the last 2 weeks.
He's not done the work he promised.

I'm not making this up. You can PM me for more details. The reason I am posting this here is because I've got no other way to contact him. He has not been on MSN. He's not replied to emails. He's blocked me on Twitter and ignored my comments on his blog.

This is no personal vendetta. I will be happy if he just contacts me directly to sort things out.

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Admins if you need proof at all then feel free to PM for more details. I don't believe in giving someone a bad reputation for no reason.

    His name is James Poole.

I'm sorry for coming to this forum but I've exhausted all other means of contact and would really like my work done or my money returned.

I'm another victim of James Poole, he charged me £150 to do some SEO work but failed to deliver any work, so in the end I asked for money back. He gave me £50 of the £150, but is now ignoring me.

Note to administrators, I'm happy to prove the user "jp135" has not returned £100.

If anyone else has been conned by this user, you can also find him on twitter - Twitter / jp135 - he has a lot of contacts on there, my plan to contact each one in turn explaining the situation. Until James does the honest thing and returns my money.

You can also find him here - SEO, internet marketing, Search engine optimisation blog He says on the about us page that he works for the SEO agency Freshegg, but he doesn't anymore. I called them and they said they haven't seen him for over 4 weeks.

Just checked his last two reviews on digitalpoint, both a negative:

    One says - "Scammer!"
The second - "Scammer slles links on sites he does not own"

    This guy unbelievible.

I'm going to contact the agency his claims he works for Freshegg.com and get a telephone number.

He is also on Affiliate Marketing

Not sure how this fits with Acorn's policy of posting peoples real names and or negative feedback etc

Either way, if people have ripped people off or acted in a dishonest way then I cannot see why they cant be named and shamed - ideally without comeback on the 'reporter' otherwise it will turn into a ebay style 'negative' fest eg. my single negative feedback from Scott Jones on the FMN.co.uk farce ;)

There is little point/use if Acorn only has positive comments on everyone...

Does anyone have any experience with dealing with something like this.

It'd be great to know what we can do to get our money back. I've lost £200

Out of interest, and I don't mean this disrespectfully - but why did you pay him cash in advance? Most people wouldn't pay a tradesman until the job's complete, so I'm just wondering how he persuaded you?
