Seeing as it’s Friday, I thought we could have a lighthearted thread on the most overused phrase on Acorn (and other domain forums). So don’t anyone get all angry, it’s just a bit of fun, I'm sure most of us are guilty of at least one.

    So in no particular order...

"Last chance on these before they go on the development pile" - AKA the 'I can’t sell it pile'

"I’ve received an offer of £XXX" = I’ve received an offer of £XXX in my own head so I’ll bump the thread in the vague hope someone offers me SOMETHING!

“Perfect domain to make £XXXXs selling XYZ” - Well why aren’t you doing it then?

“It’s brandable” = It’s shit and I’ve no idea what anyone would do with the domain.

"Last chance before I contact end users" = I’ve already contacted end users, you guys are my last hope.

"A domain is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it" Not the case. If I am prepared to pay £100 for a domain, is that the defined value ?

perhaps this should be rephrased to something like...

"A domain is worth what the best buyer is prepared to pay for it,"

Rob Taylor did a thread like this many years ago, on this forum.

"cracking" / "cracking domain" when it really isn't anything special.

"This is the final price drop." - Well, for the next 24 hours at least...
"BIN £xxx, no offers considered." - Yet if you offer £10-20 less you'll still most likely get the domain. :)
"I've had many offers in the past" - Just don't mention they were all reg fee..

    "The OP should have done....."
    "The OP should do......."
    "With that domain you should...."
"The only way it will ever make money is if you...."

Normally in posts where no one actually asked for an opinion. Typically read as:

"I'm a sad lonely old fart, and spend my day going from forum to forum, waiting for my next sign on day, telling people what they should do, and how they should do it, yet I am unable to supply any details of anything that I have achieved. Ever. Not even the 10m swimming badge".
