Got one last week and I've got to say it's been a proper blast from the past. I know there are emulators but it's been really good to play classics such as StreetFighter 2 and Mario Kart on the original controller. An absolute steal for £69.99. Best thing is how my 7 year old daughter and her cousins absolutely love it, even though the games are over 25 years old.

C64 Mini is next apparently, sometime next year.

I had my original until last year, some guy who owns a second hand electronics shop brought it for £100 and 50 quid for my old Sega Mastersystem II, I'm sure he must have known something I didnt as it doesnt matter how nostalgic I was feeling I wouldnt pay 100 notes for one as Id probably only use it a handful of times.

Agreed though, the original Mario cart, street fighter, Donky Kong you can't beat :D SNES has to be one of my fav consoles. I remember buying the N64 for one game, literally didnt play or buy anything else for it, I'd put money down that everyone couldnt guess the game as im pretty sure everyone done it lol

I went through a phase of trading old consoles, it was quite profitable. I would also hold onto anything mint. It was amazing what you could find locally. Really saturated now though...

Would buy and sell NES/SNES/N64 and Segas aswell as the rare games etc.

What??? N64 was awesome... if only for Zelda: OoT, still the greatest game of all time. And Mario 64, the greatest game of all time until OoT came out. And Banjo Kazooie. And the best Mario Kart (until 8 came out). And the best local multiplayer game of the time in Goldeneye. Easily my favourite gaming memories on that console.

Haha, I preferred the original Mario Cart on the SNES over the N64 version. It was Golden Eye that was the only game i had for that console. At the time I was a PS1 or PS2 fan so N64 didnt really get a look in apart from Golden eye which was mental with a bunch of mates around.

The C64 mini console looked interesting for a minute, but the list of games is just too sparse for something that likely can never be updated/upgraded https://thec64.com/games/

I have fond memories of so, so many games... but just about none of them made the list. Anyone remember "M.U.L.E" by Electronic Arts? Pool

Also, does anyone else remember that the two joystick ports on the C64 polled sequentially? (well, of course they did, but I mean "noticeably sequentially") so in games like M.U.L.E. where two players might need to react to something at exactly the same moment, the person plugged into joyport 1 always won by a few fractions of a second...

My father used to write games for the dragon32 and C64 - good old days he taught me how to program :) This was just when software houses were starting - until then everything was done by one or two people. Unfortunately nostalgia is better than the reality - I recently checked out games I have fond memories of too - Elite, Chuckie Egg, Impossible Mission. It's really surprising to see how much imagination we had in those days :p This was his

Aye was a bit of a retro collector myself but had to offload it all after a split with the other half left me in a bad financial spot. Your right about emulators there really naff i say that due to the games and the FPS one in particular power rangers on emulator almost caused me to have an epileptic fit even though i don't have epilepsy the strobe lighting was very dangerous :D.

Glad it's still got a bit of legs SNES was my first console being a 90's child.

There are some homebrew games out there worth an absolute fortune if you can find them.

I grew up with the old Commodores and Spectrum's ( the one with the soft touch keyboard, not sure which it was ), my uncles machines but remember spending hours on it. I was addicted to a game called Mr Puniverse, I "think" it was on the Commodore, I must have been about 5 or 6 years old.

There are some good games on the C64 console - Uridium and Paradroid are excellent and Impossible Mission is a classic. But you're right Edwin, there are lots they could have added...DT's Decathlon, Spy Hunter, Out Run, Raid Over Moscow, any game by Ultimate, who were my favourite software house, lost many days to the Staff of Karnath!

There were a lot of great games for sure, but the crack cocaine was “Pool of Radiance”. Diabolically addictive.
