Not quite as expensive per domain as yours, but I got a paper invoice for some of mine because they were not on auto-renew and the card on file was expired lol. It soon prompted me to transfer them all to crazydomains for a fraction of the price :

Probably. All that money must do wonders for the libido. And they’re having it on too.;)

I have been a VirtualNames customer since 1999 for my main business website.
VirtualNames have unfortunately been taken over by Names.co.uk and so far the level of service before my site has even moved over has been shocking.
Reading this thread is making me seriously consider looking elsewhere.

Lots of rip off registrars atm for various reasons.. What's the best registrar to go with if you have about 100 domains? crazydomains looks like a decent option for renewal charges. Is there a downside with them?

    I have 200 domains and I’m a tag holder.
I have a cPanel account with lowcosthosting.co.uk for them

I've been a namecheap customer for the best part of 6 years I think, I thought they were brilliant after moving from Godaddy, Loved their control panel, DNS changes with in minutes rather than hours. But after registering a couple of domains with Crazydomains, I really like their panel, bulk update options are great, DNS changes equal to namecheap...............and much much cheaper. I currently have 200 domains in my Crazy domains account which gives you premium DNS and an extra percentage off the prices on the website.

As others have pointed out, you are relying on "offers" rather than a regular price, but to be honest when an offer comes up im happy to renew 50 - 100 domains at the time of the offer so providing there is an offer once or twice a year then its never going to be cost effective for me to be a tag owner. ( while holding less than 250 - 300 domains anyway )

Yes I'm thinking of switching as I was royally ripped off by domainmonster. So what's the typical crazydomains price compared to their offer price? Thanks in advance for your help!

£6.95 .uk , £4.95 .co.uk by the looks of things, which to be fair is still miles better than Names.co.uk and/or namecheap.

Transfers are free too ( UK ones ), all you need to do is login to crazy domains, add all the domains you want to transfer, they send you confirmation emails. You then change the tag in Nominet, once thats done click on the confirmation email for each domain and its done.

So £11.90 inc VAT instead of £7.50 + VAT (£9 inc), excluding any promotions Nominet tag holders may or may not (jeez, why am I so cryptic?) offer to tag holders.

(edited to inc VAT, my mistake)

I have no idea what you are saying, It's what I said £6.95 for .UK or £4.95 for .CO.UK's at normal rates inclusive of VAT.

Currently £3.99 inclusive of VAT at an offer price which non-tag holders may or may not get depending on the promotion .

The tagholder price is £3.50 + VAT = £4.20 , so currently because non-tag holders have no idea if there is or is not a promotion to tag holders. Crazy domains £3.99 promotional offer is cheaper than a tag holder would get

I use GoDaddy for the free 1 year if you buy at least 2 years (about 12.99 for 2 years) But you could SO easily accidentally pay them 2.99 to give you a personal email account with your domain and spend a fortune on a simple 5 minute task, so I hate them for being so dishonest about that :(

What are the default name servers at crazydomains? It's continued to use the domainmonster nameservers so I'd like to change it. It says they offer free dns hosting etc..Thanks :).

Not sure I use my own DNS, but for a couple of domains I've just purchased the defaults are :

    ns1.crazydomains.com
    ns2.crazydomains.com

When you transfer a domain, the DNS doesnt change which is why you are still using domainmonster, prevents downtime when moving domains around

Thanks Adam. I notice they also have a standard and premium dns service. Still figuring my way around it, but hopefully i'll soon have things figured out. I'll update the nameservers. If any of this sounds wrong to anyone, let me know!
