Just a heads up regarding Domainlore seller "UKDomain"

    I won the auction for odr.co.uk -

    https://domainlore.uk/odr.co.uk

and paid right away. Radio silence from the seller since then despite daily emails from me, and I have not received the domain.

I see that he has other auctions as well, so proceed with appropriate caution.

His name is "David Smith" and his email address is tech@assetallocation.co.uk

My stupidity for not using escrow with a new seller.

Have you told Denys who runs domainlore? He has a zero tolerance policy for people not completing sales. Would be best to tell him immediately if the seller has other live auctions so there is leverage over the seller (he might complete if his other auctions face being cancelled if he doesn't complete this one) and if he is playing silly buggers at least other buyers would be saved from being scammed in his other auctions.

DRS would be an interesting route to go down. Failing that, how did you pay? Looks like the domain is tagged with Domain Monster which looks like has been acquired by 123REG (my condolences) might be worth contacting them and seeing if they can sort it out.

Sure, Denys is aware. Technically, the seller has not broken any rules yet, as I think one has three weeks to complete a transaction.

I think it's more likely that he balked at the low selling price rather than something terrible happening to him. Let us know how it pans out.

Has he definitely done a runner ? He may be just be off radar or it may be low priority. Ive had sales that have taken weeks to complete after multiple prods. Unfortunately not everyone treats these these things as a priority. It's been what ? 9 or 10 days ?

I can understand that even if I don't agree with it, but he must have sent payment details for Jeff to pay though?

I'm actually now looking for a drop catcher if anyone wants to PM me. Likely to become quite regular so who's the best in this town? Cheers.

You can imagine what the person must be like. All ego, no substance.

Just to update the thread -

The seller's email no longer works - emails bounce back.

He has ripped off at least one other person as well :(

I'd always advise being careful of domains where the nameservers are not changed when listed on an auction site. In fact, I'd suggest auction platform owners should make it a requirement.

    Sorry to hear Jeff.

I wonder does he even own the domain? You can list domains without verification on domainlore.

Maybe Denys should add that all domains listed on domainlore need to point to his DNS before the auction can be started, one small extra layer of security.

I don’t think it has helped with Nominet (GDPR?) allowing registrants to hide their details.

I believe you need a working mobile phone number to sign up to domainlore, could be worth asking Denys for this and the IP addressed used?

Archive.org is not working for me at the minute, will be interesting to see if he has had any personal details on the domains prior.

    Darren.

When I had an issue with a seller on domainlore Denys didn't respond to my email requesting his phone number, however, after a period of time the sellers contact number appeared in my account (I can't remember exactly where as I am no longer welcome on domainlore). Can you see his telephone number?
