Has anyone dealt with YAY.com for domains?

    I was attracted to their domain pricing, so I transfered over 26 domains to take advantage of their 25+ domain pricing.

    Then I find that their paypal account cannot work with mine, due to currency issues (mine being GBP).

    So, I email them about that,

    Next thing I find that they have locked my account and are now asking for ID. They are a US company and have no GDPR policy at https://www.yay.com/about/privacy/ -

    I've never had to send ID to a registrar before and reluctant to do so, especially as I will be transfering the domains out as I'm unable to pay!

    Wondering if anyone has dealt with them before and for peoples general thoughts.

    I used them before I got my own tag and never had any issues like this.

    They're a UK company and the owner buys and sells domains, he may even be a member of the forum if memory serves. I have a VOIP account with them and they're a very proactive company with UK staff at the end of the phone.

    I've since learnt that via email, but they do bill for domains in USD and invoices show a US (New york) address

    Yeah, they bill for domains in USD and US address on invoices.

    Paypal issue is a strange one, but I think it's because they are set up for subscription based payments, paypal refuses to let me pay them. First time I've had that. It's probably work if they were using standard paypal payments.

    Just thought I'd update;

    I do not approve of suspending my account while this is going on. But anyhow, I did have to provide ID, which I did and Jez, who I was dealing with, remained professional but friendly during the back and forth.
