In my case I just bought a new hosting reseller account and set the nameserver to the domain caught by dropcatcher.

So now I can't set up the server and add new accounts until the nameserver is changed.

    Totally frustrating.

I find it quite amazing that a forum as popular as detagged.co.uk has been allowed to go offline for so long, I mean they spend all that time, effort and money building it up, only for them to let it die!

I'm interested to know if other forum members will give up on detagged (should it start again) and stick with this forum, and have all the detagged members migrated here?

I think it is better to have an independant forum as at the end of the day it was basically a promotional tool, however this forum is more 'community' based.

    Hi,
When you say allowed to go offline for so long! What do you mean? Detagged.co.uk has no obligations as far as I am aware to the members that use its FREE forum service. They have provided a great site for domain discusssion and should not be ridiculed for either a long downtime or should they decide to end their service in the future!

Acorn is a fab site and having joined this one 1st I am a loyal member but would still visit dettaged should they re-appear.

    Regards

maybe they have no obligations to keep it going, but it does look poor if they can't sort out a simple "offline" message, especially as they link to it on their main site.

doesnt give a good impression to potential customers

I would love to know why Chris and Ronnie decided to let the detagged forum die, surly a popular forum like that is worth quite a bit of money? Anyway, hats off to admin for taking over.

I suspect the answer lies in the latter few posts on the forum, before it was switched off.

The subject was game.co.uk DRS case, and the expert who made the controversial decision.
